Muffins with Mom

I had a great time this morning with the kids at Muffins with Mom! It was so nice to eat breakfast with the kids at school, they thought it was pretty special. For some reason they ALWAYS want to go early and eat breakfast at school-- honestly, I can't justify the outrageous price they charge for such a little amount of food, that I KNOW they won't eat!! Today was a different and they thought they had won the lottery!! Thanks to the FRC ladies for putting on such a nice breakfast with oh so yummy muffins!!!

Another snow day

Yes, you guessed it...another snow day for us today. I was really surprised when Brian called this morning and said that school was cancelled, but it was. Hunter was up and dressed at 7:05 this morning where Hayley on the other hand was not up until 9:00!! That's my girl--taking advantage of some unexpected days to sleep in.
I know that I complain of the snow and the kids being out of school, but honestly any day you get to stay home with your unexpected is a BONUS. We had a fun filled day with lots of fun games, play dough (YES I caved in and let them play with this) and a Wii Challenge in between loads of laundry!

Hayley and Hunter playing Bananagrams--
Hayley made 21 words and Hunter made 25 words
Yes, I had to get a picture of this...play dough
there's a first for everything

Hunter beat everyone on the Wii

They each have their favorite games on the computer

Sleeping Boys

This is what naptime looks like at our house when I have Clayton.
He loves to sleep in our bed when Brian is sleeping too--monkey see monkey do!

She's something else...

Me: "Hayley what have you gotten into? You face is all broken out under your eye?
Hayley: "I know, it itches and hurts."
Me: "That is because you have gotten into something. What is it?"
Hayley: "I told you Momma I have not gotten into something. It's more like what has gotten into me!"

I was speechless. That girl is something else!

RaNdOm FuNnIeS

Here are some things that the kids have said lately:

Hunter: "Momma, are you cooking city bacon or country bacon?"
Me: "Hunter, I didn't know there was a difference."
Hunter: "Duh, Momma. City people eat turkey bacon and US country people eat real bacon."
~ He is his father made over~

Hayley: "Momma, can I have a gorilla bar?"
Me: "Gorilla bar? I don't know what you are talking about."
Hayley: "Yeah you do, those good things you bought at the grocery."
Me: "I still don't know what you are talking about, show me."
Hayley: "Right here"
Momma: "You mean granola bar?"
Hayley: "Oh, I thought you they were called gorilla bars"

Brian: "Looks like your roses are dying and need to be thrown away"
Me: "I am surprised at how long they lasted"
Brian: "They lasted a week"
Me: "Maybe the ones you gave your girlfriend"
Hayley: (interrupting without missing a beat) Yeah, Diana" (this is Brian's girlfriend from HS)
(Minutes later after both Brian and I dying from laughter)
Me: "No dear they lasted 11 days"
~That's my girl~

Oh Sunny Days....

We came home from church and its was GORGEOUS outside...sunny and 62 in the middle of February, makes it even better--this is a glimpse of heaven compared to the winter weather we have been having. So glad to see the snow finally melt, clear blue skies and the sun--I will take weather anytime!

We cut some more wood
(hoping not having to use it much longer)

I cleaned my car inside and out--so glad to get that
nasty salt off of her! Isn't she purddy?

Hayley was showing off her cheer leading skills
while Hunter played more basketball

Hoops

We are LOVING this beautiful weather we had this weekend and enjoyed some much need outside time to burn off some of that cabin fever energy overload that we had! Hunter was more then excited to shoot some hoops. His skills are getting much better and he loves to beat me in CAT!

No more Cedars

The loggers are finally done cutting cedars and what a difference it has made, now it's so open...we can almost see our neighbors if we look hard enough!! It's weird to look at the huge piles of green tops that are here and there. I honestly didn't think that there were that many cedars, guess I was wrong! If the weather holds off they will begin cutting hardwoods--can't wait to see how much more open that will make things too.

Our count for the first two weeks is:
18.11 tons of sawable cedars
15.71 tons of chip cedar

Everywhere you look are piles of green tops.
Notice how open it's starting to look

Marking the property line with orange dots

There are still a lot of cedar loads to be taken to the mill

Monster Truck Pull

Brian has worked 16-18 hour days for weeks, with out a day off, so this means not seem much of the kids with all the winter weather we had so this was a chance to treat them to something special....a date night out in the big city of Lexington, KY (aka WILDCAT COUNTRY). We had to stop and get some dinner, and lucked out when we found a Cici's Pizza---we love this place--it made the trip even better! Then next up Rupp Arena for the Monster Truck Pull!!!

We came a little early so that we could watch the CATS play on the big screens in RUPP ARENA--that it's was SO cool and the fact that they won was even better!! Hayley was in heaven!!! We already been told that we need to come back for a game, I think that will be a Mommy/Hayley date day--no boys allowed!

This picture is for POP-
she knows who to cheer for!

watching the game
COUSINS!!
As soon as the game was over the Monster Truck Pull began. Our seats were AWESOME (~good job Daddy~) at the finish line about 10 rows up, with a perfect view! I didn't even have to use my zoom on the camera if that tells you how close we were!!! It was SO loud, I couldn't hold my ears and take pictures at the same time --we decided to move to the top after the first 5 or so pulls to see if that helped any!

Hayley sports earmuffs to help with the noise

while Hunter sports gum!
Not really...its earplugs!

all the trucks lined up and ready to go

Special surprise....fire shooting Transformer

Monster Trucks
cars lined up ready to crush

one rolled over-
the kids thought that was cool

Killing time while they fixed the track
with a few pictures.....

he is actually smiling for once

Rock climing buggies--these were my favorite!

We had a great time..I was worn out when we got home around 1:30ish! I am too old to be out that late, just ask the kids
