Report cards went home this week and both Hunter and Hayley got all S's and +. (They do not receive A, B, C, D or F grades until 3rd grade) Brian and I are blessed with two kiddos who love school, homework and reading. Often I find myself asking whose kids they are and praying that they keep thus up for another 12 years at least!
Hunter is already waaay above his reading level goal of 28--he was this at the end of last year. He is also getting pulled out during Intervention time to work with the Gifted/Talented teacher, Ms. Hill. We got the results of the TPRO test that was taken in the fall and he scored above average (4-6 average, 7-9 above average-- and he scored a 7--above average) Mrs. Sienicki always has wonderful comment about how well he does, applies himself and his manners--guess all that beating does pay off.
Hayley is little Ms. Thang--just ask Ms. Sweazy. I always tell her teacher that she has made her what she is and now we all have to deal with her. No sooner then we are in the car does she have her folder out and telling me what she has learned, read, and what homework she has to do. She has started to take AR (Acclerateored Reader) test and is doing very well. These are test that are given to see how well your reading and comprehension skills are. We are now onto list 6 with the sight words--there are only 10 list and she is buzzing right thru them--Last week we only did list 5 two days and she took her test and got a 100%--she wears me out!
