Pinterest dinner

So, I am a Pinterest addict--I love looking at all the neat things on there and get sad because i know that i am not crafty like most of these people.  I do have to say that I like looking at all the new recipes that are out there. I find myself getting stuck fixing the same things for dinner over and over. After pining lots of things that look yummy, i decided that I was going to try one new recipe a week--easy enough.

This week its was Mississippi Roast and Roasted Potatoes---OH  MY  WORD  delish and so easy--I even made my lunch for the next day before fixing plates because I knew there wouldn't be any left. Go ahead and judge, I don't care.

I have pinned it onto my "things I tried" board for several girls at school.

Yummy left overs

If there is ever something that you try that your family likes, please pass along!

Pop's cookie cake

Pop and the kids always make a cookie cake for their birthday, this is Hunter's this year. I can't believe how big he looks. Where has time gone?

Study buddy

I took advantage of MLK day and did some studying for my class on Friday. Hayley decided that I needed a study buddy and came in and was reading her book and offered to help me. LOVE that she is just as excited about me going to school as I am.

Skate O Rama

The kids decided that they wanted to have their birthday party at Skate O Rama this year. I love the fact that they are so close in age (2 years) and have lots of the same friends (sibling pairs), its a win win situation for everyone.

I didn't get to take too many pictures because (1) they are too stinkin fast (2) I kept falling (3) I was forbidded to do so by my son (he might die of embarassment!)

Back to School?!?!?!?

Well, I finally did it,biit the bullit and  I enrolled back in College. Classes have started this week, I am only going on Monday and Friday's from 9-11:30. Starting back slowly and seeing how it goes.  This has been something that I have wanted to do forver, now that the kids are older its seems like this is the perfect time to do so. After lots of praying, talking and discussion wiht my family I am over whenlmed that tehy are so excited that I am doing this!!

Hayley was so cute and was alking all kinds of questionsn: "Do I get a lunch break?" " Is the bus picking me up? " Do I have special areas?" "Can I loose tiger paws?"
Both the kids were so excited to talk to me when they got home from school and were full of all quesions, it was pricelss.

Its going to be a challenge on how to balance my school, kids school, family and subbing but I know and have faith that its all going to work out. My ultimate goal is to be totally finished by the time Hunter graduates, in 6 years!  Hopefully it won't take me that long.

funnies

I know I have posted these on Facebook, some of my family isn't on there so I wanted to post these so they could have a good laugh as well. There is never a dull moment and I never know what will come out of the kids mouths when they ask a question. Sometimes, I wish I could remember them all but these are just some of the ones that I got a chance to write down. Laughter is the best medicine

Our morning conversation:

Me: "Hunter, can you help Clayton get changed while I go feed"
Hunter: "Yes, mam"
Me: "Thanks, you're a good boy!"
Hunter: "Arf, Arf, Arf"

My child is not right!

Jan 7
Hayley: "You know we are out of school today because my birthday is a National holiday, right?"
Me: "Oh dear, seriously?!"
Hayley: "Yes, we are out because its MY birthday"
Me: "Its just the last day of Christmas break'
Hayley: "Yeah, I know. I like to think of it as a National holiday!"

Hayley just informed me that she can't eat kidney beans because they cause kidney stones.

January 12
Hunter just informed me that he would wine and dine his girlfriend with microwaved hot dogs and Mac and cheese. Man is she a lucky chick!!

Jan 13
Breakfast conversation with Hayley:

Hayley: "Momma, why do they have an AM/FM channel on the radio
Me: "That's the way its always been, there was AM before the was FM. Lots of talk programs and older music on AM. GG listens to AM channels and you listen to FM"
Hayley: "Really?! I thought it was because you had to listen to AM in the morning and FM at night

Jan 14
Hayley just gave me a kiss, told me to have a good day and not loose any tiger paws! Hmmm, wonder where she's heard that before?!

Jan 15
Tonight's conversation:

Hayley: "I didn't know that Hooter's had a basketball team"
Me: "They don't"
Hayley: "Then why is the other school wearing Hooter orange?!"
Me: "That's called Tennessee orange"
Hayley: "Oh, I'm glad I don't live there and have to wear it"

January 17
Hayley's question of the night:

Wethington birthday

We headed to Pop's for our 7th annual Wethington Birthday Party!!! 4 January birthdays: Luke (1/4), Hayley (1/7), Chelsey (1/18), Hunter (1/22) in less then 3 weeks--its a busy birthday month. The kids would have it no other way then one HUGE birthday party with their cousin. I love the fact that they can always have this memory and share a special time together.  I had to laugh because Faith asked "Why not my birthday?" Poor gal was born 12/14, guess we can throw her in there too next year.

Ma and Hutner

The Halls are always playing jokes on everyone...this year it was on the kids. Sadly, they didn't get it-Hunter recieved a record and Hayley an 8 track!  We have had the "say thank you even if you don't get what you want" talk 10,000 times and they did just that. It was so funny, I had tears from laughing so hard, guess you had to be there. After explaining to the kids what they got they couldn't belive that people actually listened to these things. Oh to be a youngin'

Hayley~
I am so proud of the young woman that you are becoming even tho it seems like we are butting heads more often. Could it be that you are hard headed like your Daddy or a spitting image of Me?? You are always the first one to make us laugh with your many saying, acting, endless dancing and singing. I pray that you will keep your carefree way of life and marching to the beat of your own drum

Love you more
