Pinewood Derby

Sunday after church, the RA's and GA's hosted the 1st Annual Pinewood Derby, complete with concession stand and all. The kids worked hard on their cars during Sunday nights and I was pretty impressed with how they turned out. Each child was given a block of wood and told to design their cars, someone even had a created a bus! This  is our first experience with this type of thing. I am wanting to make a car next year.

Our leaders do everything official...coin toss, lane selection, brackets, judges, etc. I was VERY impressed of how smoothly everything went, especially for this being our first time and 25 cars

 I had said at the start that I hope Hunter and Hayley don't have to race each other because Lord knows the meltdowns that would follow that. Well, it wasn't until the 5 round that they had to race each other and Hayley lost and the tears came (DRAMA QUEEN!!!!!) She was the winner of the looser bracket (if that makes sense)

 Hunter continued on in the winners bracket and was the 1st place winner and  Hayley came in 4 place.

It was a fun afternoon, and the kids are already planning their cars for next year!
