Smart kiddos

Hunter and Hayley are always bringing home awards and test like this. So proud and glad that they love school and do so well! Let's just pray it continues for the next 9 and 11 years

Birthday this week?

My poor kids think that it's normal for every holiday celebration to start a week early and end a week later. Is anybody else as blessed as we are? Hayley's birthday is on today and she has been getting cards, calls, email and text all week from our family and friends.

A line at a time

Hunter had his evaluation for VT (vision therapy) last week and we got the results yesterday...gained another line!! This is awesome and we are making great strides, s--l--o--w--l--y but surely. Set up for another evaluation in 8 weeks and we will go from there, hopefully will get to graduate or take summer off.
Dr. Bowersox is pleased with his progress but frustrated because its taken longer then he thought. Heck, as long as we keep gaining lines, were good.
We have been using this little band-aid stick on type of patches and finally ran out after 2 years of them, so Hunter got to choose a design (sports) for his new patch. He's super excited about it, so for now we will patching, working and doing VT weekly

Kids and more kids!

Today was a wild and crazy day, but so much fun!! All 5 kids (Hunter, Hayley, Clayton, Leah and Allison) were all here and had a blast playing together. At times it was utter and complete chaos, mostly trying to keep the 3 older kids quiet during naps,  but I can honestly say, I LOVED IT!!! I'm looking forward to some fun playing time with just the little ones, since my kids went back to school today :).

Clayton, Leah, Hayley, Allison, Hunter
I was as a little hesitant on how Clayton would react with having two babies to deal with but he ate it up!! He is such an easy going and loving child, he loved playing with both Allison and Leah. Was always asking if I needed help changing or feeding (his job has been to get me diapers and he is proud to do so!) As I was feeding Leah he told me that Allison was his baby and Leah mine...it was so cute! I think he's just excited to have someone different to play with other then me and his sister.
Both babies did very well--there wasn't a time when they both were screaming needing fed! Both girls are very curious about the other and its so neat to watch and see them try to interact and play. Hard to believe that there are only 3 days between them, Leah is 3 days older then Allison.

I was thinking about how different the girls are from each other:
~Leah prefers her back, Allison prefers her stomach
~Leah doesn't like a passie, Allison does
~Leah isn't crawling/scooting/sitting up, Allison is (thank goodness, I don't think I could chase two crawling babies)
~Allison is breast fed, Leah is formula
~Leah "talks" then Allison
~Leah eats every 4 hours, Allison every 2

Thank goodness each child is different, I don't think that I could handle identical children whether they be my own or someone elses!

Does he know he's a boy?

The kids couldn't wait to get home and eat lunch after church so we could head to the barn to work some more with the horse! Lighting did very well being hitched all last night and seemed much calmer today. I think that we are going to continue to do every other day for a week. Today it was Hayley's job to brush him out, she is still a little hesitant around him, says he is so big, (I have to laugh because the horse she rode last year is twice the size of Lighting!) so I am s-l-o-w-l-y giving her "jobs" to do!
 .
Hayley's job was to brush Lighting

It's still so muddy out I wanted to try and braid his mane today to help keep it clean and less tangled. Hayley kept asking me "Does he know he's a boy?" She was stressing out because I was braiding a boys hair!! I told her that we wouldn't tell Lighting and neither would the other horses. Hoping tomorrow to get a chance to braid his tail and tie it up...that might get interesting and make for a good post!

Starting the year off right

Mimi has been telling the kids ever since Spring that they HAD to ride on New Year's Day because that meant that it was going to be a good year, horse wise. Well, you tell the kids something like that and they won't forget you said it. So we headed down to the barn this afternoon to play with the horses and ride.
We haven't been on a horse since late November so I was anxious to see how the kids would both do. Hayley was a little skiddish and wanted to on a  ride buddy seat, but I finally talked her into riding with herself with me leading. She did wonderfully and I am sure by the end of this month she will be back to her old self and riding every horse! Hunter was an old pro and did very well!
I didn't ride Lighting, because he was a little wound tight since he has really been rode or messed with for a little over a month. He did well getting brushed out, just fidgety...kinda like my kids!  I did hitch him in a stall for the night so he will learn how to stand still, so we will see how this does! Here are some pictures from our night, hope you enjoy!!

A whole lot of 1's

I was just informed by Hunter that today is 1-1-11...that's a whole lot of 1's!! Yes, he is full of useless information and is always sharing his knowledge with us, we are blessed.

I hope that each of you all had a fun and safe New Year's Eve last night. The kids and I partook in our traditional celebration, pizza, cokes and the Wii. Tynan and Truell came down and joined us, we are blessed with such fun neighbors! Nothing too exciting for some, but they both seem to love this and we have done it the past 2 years and will continue to do so.
The kids and I did stay up until 12:00 to see the ball drop, they were so excited all day long about being able to stay up late and being able to camp out in the living room, it's the little things in life! It was the first time that they both had made it to see the ball drop and I had to laugh because they really didn't understand or comprehend it all.Who knows what they were expecting! Both kids kept saying, "That's all"  We called Brian at midnight to tell him "Happy New Year and to be safe" and turned in for the night!! Kids and I both slept until 10:00....what a wonderful way to start the year!
Guess I am getting old when you don't get excited about NYE and worry about being out and the worst case scenario happening and your lives instantly changing right before your eyes. I worry enough about Brian having to work that night and for the past two years the weather has been nasty, snow and ice last year and rain this year! Needless to say I don't sleep very well that night. He got home safely about 10 this morning and is in the bed until he gets called out again...praying not for a while, he is one tired Daddy!
Today we are just hanging out, enjoy our lazy day inside since its still raining and muddy. I've been cleaning out closets, drawers, cabinets. Hunter and Hayley have been playing the Wii and board games. Wouldn't have it any other way, all my family safely home under one roof! Thinking that a nap is going to be in order for this Momma later!

It can't be an official holiday without Oreo Balls. Crazy Clemens look what you have started in my house!!
