Goat Run Medals

The kids came home Monday sporting their newest medals! They are SUPER proud of them and had no problems showing them off all day long!

Hunter and Hayley both came in 2nd!!

Can't wait to see how many more they add to their collection on the next year. I have already signed them up for The Color Run in July--this will be our first 5K together as a trio!!

Roller Skating

Amy and I had plans to take the kids to Thunder on Saturday, but since the weather was nasty we decided against it. It was going to be a day of eating, playing and fun, inside of coarse!!

First on the list feeding our picky children, we ended up at Golden Corral mainly because it was a one stop shop, for the kids--something that they each would eat!

I did what any good Aunt would do and got Keegan all sugared up on ice cream and cotton candy

We had decided on Roller Skating and seeing the new Disney movie, Chimpanzee. What's a girl to do with a hour of free time??? Head to the mall and shop!!!

Amy was looking for some shoes so we stopped at this shoe store, I had to laugh because the kids made way to this HUGE TV on the wall and settled in like it was home. That's my kind of shopping, quiet kids, fully entertained and not whining....it was so nice!!

As we were leaving there was the Chic Fila cow and you know that Hayley is all about hugging/meeting/shaking hands with these people. I MADE the kids take a picture with him--oh, the humanity!! (I thought of some bloggers who I stalk on a regular basis who always post pictures of their sweet kids every time they are there!! I LOVE IT!!) In the end, it was worth it because we got to spin a wheel and won a free drink, fries and dessert...SCORE!!

After leaving the mall we headed to the movies, that ended up being a TOTAL failure---it was sold out!!! Guess that meant that we had to spend more time at the skating rink, BUMMER :)
My kids LOVE to skate, its something they do fairly often with Pop and Nana, so they were all excited to show Keegan "their" rink!!

It was serious business, Aunt Amy was going to skate with them--we all had a few good laughs over this. Hard to believe that we used to hang out at Green Tree Skate Land when we were younger. We got the kids all laced and tied and hit the floor.
Me and Keegan

Watch out, here they come!!

I was amazed at how well they ALL did skating! There were times that I had tears rolling down my face from laughing at them, never a dull moment with this bunch!

The kids thought it would be fun to try and push Aunt Amy, this lasted only about 10 feet before she fell!!

One final picture, before we left...

We had so much fun, so thankful that we can make time for these days with each other! Looking forward to our next outing after our bottoms heal and we are rested! LOVE YOU

Perfect Mix

Had to laugh when I saw this, Hayley is a perfect combo of her Daddy (mudboots/gooseneck trailer) and myself (lawn chair and a good book)

Mountain Goat Run

Saturday was the 4th Annual Mount Goat Run at the State Park and the kids were super pumped about being able to run this year, it is  a 5k and 1 mile run that is sponsored by the track team. It had poured Friday night into Saturday and that just added to the fun and excitement.
There was no doubt in my mind that Hunter could of ran the 5K without a problem, Hayley on the other hand would of not made it 1/2 way, especially thru the woods with everything blooming. We opted to run the 1 mile and next year Hunter gets to do 5k regardless!

Once again I have to laugh at the "monster" that Ms. Hahn and Mr. Seabolt (coaches and teachers I work with) have created with Hayley. I threaten them both that they are going to have to take her home overnight if this continues!!  This is our conversation on Friday night:
Hayley: "Momma, you aren't putting those steaks on the grill, are you?"
Me: "Yup, gotta get them going so they will be ready for when Daddy wakes up"
Hayley: "Ummm. I can't eat them"
Me: "Why?"
Hayley: "Duhhh, I have a race in the morning, I need to eat spaghetti to get energy"
Enter laughing hysterically here. Never a dull moment with her around!

A quick picture with the kiddos before the race. We are a house divided, can you tell?

After we got checked in, our t shirts and numbers, we were official!

A quick picture with friends before the run, notice how clean they are!!

Runners on your mark, get set, go!!
It was a very nice course, 3 laps around the picnic area, some hills, but VERY MUDDY! Good thing that I wasn't worried about my time!! After the first two laps I decided to stop and take pictures of the kids. The laughter that squeals that were coming from them were priceless!!!

They both were a muddy mess when they finished

This was the kids first race/run outside of track and I am VERY impressed with them both!! I am looking to do the Color Run in July with them, looks super cool and fun (www.thecolorrun.com). Will also be a good excuse to get Hayley up to running a longer distance--she is wanting to increase her mileage. She is doing well thus far and we have had NO ASTHMA ATTACKS!! Woot! Woot!!

I was even more excited when they told us their times would be posted on Head First Performance website, they were all official!!  I copied their website and highlighted the kids names!! ,

We had to leave early and didn't get their medals, they will get these Monday at school. I will post pictures when we get them!!

Tynan's Wedding Shower

Can't believe its time for Tynan's wedding, its just around the corner. Since we are not making the trip to Florida for the wedding, we shared in her special day by attending her family wedding shower. Hayley was more then super excited about this, this is her BUDDY!! Hard to believe that she was the first person on "The Mitchell Lane" that we met when we first moved here, 10 years ago!!  I have to laugh because Tynan feeds into Hayley more then she should, I remind her of this all the time when she has kids, that payback are coming. I will load them up on coke, Oreo balls, and tell them how mistreated they are because they don't have a dog and cat,  and send them home!! Oh the joys of being  neighbors!!

Hayley was cracking me up getting ready for this shower. The night before as we were outside finishing our farm chores, she was digging in the dirt to find worms to go fishing, she reminded me in a complete Hayley meltdown fashion that "she needs her fingers and toes repainted because we have a wedding shower tomorrow!!" This was right after she told me how I can fix her hair. I can handle the toes but the fingers too?!?!?  Don't worry., I got Mom of the Year and painted both!

Me and my gal

There were lots of fun games played at the shower and yours truly won and was super stoked!

A quick picture with our favorite neighbor

Hayley's favorite game was where they had to make brides maid dresses out of toilet paper! It was a hoot to watch. They gave Hayley the job of making the bows--it was right up her alley and kept her occupied for  a good while.

Destiny, was a good sport and let her pin them to her..."big bows for big butt" that's straight from Hayley's mouth. I wonder whose child she is sometimes!!

These cupcakes were not only beautiful but super yummy!!

Thanks for letting us be part of your special day. Still doesn't seem right that you are all grown up, graduated college, have a real job, house and getting married.!!  LOVE YOU

Planting time

We took full advantage of Spring Break, Brian being off and a beautiful day to put out the garden. The kids are super excited and have already made a list of the vegetables and fruit they want to grow:
Cabbage, Carrots, Cauliflower, Broccoli, Corn, Green Beans, Lima Beans, Tomatoes, Green Peppers, Cucumbers, Okra, Watermelon, Pumpkin, Squash, Zucchini, Cantaloupe, Cushaw. Nothing is better then fresh veggies and fruit....we just hope it turns out!! We still have to plant our cabbage, it was ready to put out, hopefully next week.

Hunter and Brian marked off the rows and measured them so that they each would be the same

 We made our rows,

 hoed,

and planted:

onions,

corn,
 more corn,

carrots,
and

broccoli

The kids were responsible for our markers at the start of each row:
Yes, we have 2 markers for our corn; one for can (complete with pictures) and one for cob.

We have ordered our tomatoes and peppers, can't wait til Derby so we can get them in the ground!!
