We have know since Thursday that Hayley's right ear tube was just laying in the ear canal. (After being at the pediatrician this morning he confirmed this and said it was a little red as well) I had scheduled an appointment with Dr Coppula to see what he wanted to about this. You never know about Hayley she can go from feeling fine to being very ill in a matter of days, she is the perfect case study in lots of ways. Brian always jokes that we are in trouble if she ever was 100% healthy and felt good we would be in trouble, she would be hell on wheels!!
Kayln (her American Girl Doll went with us)
Dr Coppula looked in her ears and confirmed that it was out of place and he would like to remove the tube so it wouldn't cause any irritation or infection. This is my favorite part of these visits, when he puts her under the microscope and actually shows me what he is looking at/going to do. SO NEAT!!!
This is the insider of her ear, the blue thing is the tub
It was quick and painless, thank God!! We even got to bring it home for the "tube fairy" to come tonight. I had always been told how itty bitty they are but never got to see or hold one, they are SO tiny. If it would of fell out on her pillow I am certain that I would never had noticed it or just thought that it was lent.
Ear drum looks good, is a little red and retracted but is more then likely from her being so junky and full of snot from her pneumonia. The antibiotics should help clear this up!! Her left tube is still in place and looks wonderful. We will recheck in 6 months or sooner if there are issues.
Hoping and praying that she is growing out of her ear problems too. With a kid with such severe asthma and allergies you never know, its just a wait and see. These are the3 set and the longest set of tubes that we have had (March 8, 2010) in.
Praying that we are on a quick road to recovery, Momma needs a break!!
