Hunter turns the big 1-0!!

I can't believe that Hunter is turned the big 1-0!! That's really hard for me, to think that I have a child in double digits, time is flying by and I want to make it stop. He is growing like a week and will be passing me up in no time, he is already up to my nose!!

Some things never change no matter how old you get, my kids love to wake up early and open their presents. It was 7:30 and Hunter  had opened presents, started on Krispy Kreme Donuts and was playing with his new DS games, this must be the life!

After church we headed to TGIFridays at 4th Street for lunch. Hunter has been talking about this is where he wanted to eat since the Bahamas. We ate at one in Florida and he LOVED it, that is saying lots since he is such a picky eater!!

As we were walking to the car we saw that there was a bowling alley on 4th Street, score one for us!! We always let the kids chose what they want to do after lunch/dinner and he wanted to go bowling. I was kinda hesitant to go in since it was a bowling alley/bar but it was early enough that we were the only people in it!! Hunter was also in heaven because at the end of the lanes there were these HUGE screens and the Patriots were playing--that's his team (or so he says!)

This picture cracks me up, that's my mini me!! She stole my camera because I wasn't taking enough pictures! A blogger in the making

Me and my baby boy!

Happy Birthday Hunter, you are such a blessing in our lives and you will never know how much we love you!! Please quit growing up so fast!!

Couple skating

Pop and Nana took the kids skating for Hunter's birthday and this is the picture they sent me:

COUPLE SKATE WINNERS!!

Sweet and Swirly

I have never been to Sweet and Swirly, but the kids have been with Momma and Daddy. We headed that way after our trip to Pizza King. You know nothing like having more junk ontop of pizza--oh well, it was YUMM-O!!!! If we ever have a large amount of cash fall into our lap, I am SO opening one of these in town--it would go over so well here.

We chose from the many choices of frozen yougurt.

Then we headed to the wall of toppings, they had everytrhing you could think or dream of

Totally defeating the purpose of frozen yougurt

They all love it!!
Momma and Daddy stopped by after church to get a quick smooch from the kids on teh way to dinner. Daddy took this picture of Brian and I, thougth it was really cute!!

Pizza King

We had made a quick trip to Indiana to stop by Bass Pro and called Aunt Amy, Uncle Jay and Keegan to see if they wanted to meet for dinner. We had coupons for Pizza King and my kids have never had eaten there or had their pizza, and I knew they would love it, so we were on our way for dinner.
I can remember when the original Pizza King was on Eastern Blvd and we would get carry out from there frequently, oh the memories of my childhood!!

The kids all thought that it was really cool that a train brought your drinks!

Our table was plum full with pizzas, we had 4 different pizzas for 7 people!! Don't worry we ate almost all of it and, it was so yummy. I felt my arteries clogging with each bite.

As we were eating, Hunter noticed that our pizza was in the shape of a cross--

Speaking of childhood memories, Amy and I had a good laugh and flashback about when Dad had just gotten back from a men's retreat at the Mount and we had ordered Pizza King and our pizza ended up in the shape of a cross. He made Mom get the camera and take a picture because he was certain it was a sign from God!! He was crazy!!
I did what any good daughter would and took a picture and sent it to him, he didn't remember but Mom did!!

Now my poor kids have finally got to experience Pizza King and have already asked when are we stopping by there again!!

Furniture shopping

I have been looking for new bedroom furniture for both kids and wanted to stop at Furniture Row while we were in Indiana. While I was looking at a dresser I turned my heads to find the kids like this:

I was laughing so hard because they kept trying to get up but I guess the waves they were causing kept knocking them back down.  Thankfully, they proved my reasoning on why they will never have a water bed--it would be popped in no time! Once again I lost the Mother of the Year award.

Take cover

Today was the craziest day ever!! I was at school and we were breaking into our Guided Reading groups when all the sudden the tornado sirens went off!!!! Tracy and I hurried into the bathroom with 28 kindergartens--it was one of the longest hours of my life!!  My phone was going crazy with weather alerts/updates from Fox and we kept checking our weather aps and FB (SCOPNS) for updates on what was going on. Thank God for the Internet on my cell phone! (Yes, I did tell Tracy to grab my phone off my desk while I was hurrying kids to safety)
After  about 30 minutes and trying to keep our sanity and kids from melting down, I did what any good blogger would do and started snapping pictures with my phone. It was so funny watching the kids pose and then die laughing at Ms. Cundiff and the faces she was making.
I do have to say that I am blessed to work with such a fun and crazy lady, she definitely makes and keeps things interesting. You never know what is she is going to say or do next!!

Tracy and one of her dramatic poses

I know about all the privacy acts and how you are not suppose to take pictures or post them unless you have a sign media consent form from the parents. I am posting this picture of Ashlyn only because I got to church with her family and they wont care!! I died laughing because I snapped this at the right time--look at her mouth wide open. We have laughed about this all. day. long.

We finally got the "all clear" to return to the classroom and were so thankful to spread out and have our own space!! Needless to say the kids were wild the rest of the day and I was worn out. I am so thankful that I am able to be at school when things like this happen (even tho I didn't get to see my kids, I know that they were in good hands!).

Here's to a calm rest of the week!!

Tubes update

We have know since Thursday that Hayley's right ear tube was just laying in the ear canal. (After being at the pediatrician this morning he confirmed this and said it was a little red as well)  I had scheduled an appointment with Dr Coppula to see what he wanted to about this. You never know about Hayley she can go from feeling fine to being very ill in a matter of days, she is the perfect case study in lots of ways.  Brian always jokes that we are in trouble if she ever was 100% healthy and felt good we would be in trouble, she would be hell on wheels!!
Kayln (her American Girl Doll went with us)

Dr Coppula looked in her ears and confirmed that it was out of place  and he would like to remove the tube so it wouldn't cause any irritation or infection. This is my favorite part of these visits, when he puts her under the microscope and actually shows me what he is looking at/going to do. SO NEAT!!!
This is the insider of her ear, the blue thing is the tub

It was quick and painless, thank God!! We even got to bring it home for the "tube fairy" to come tonight.  I had always been told how itty bitty they are but never got to see or hold one, they are SO tiny. If it would of fell out on her pillow I am certain that I would never had noticed it or just thought that it was lent.

Ear drum looks good, is a little red and retracted but is more then likely from her being so junky and full of snot from her pneumonia. The antibiotics should help clear this up!! Her left tube is still in place and looks wonderful. We will recheck in 6 months or sooner if there are issues.

Hoping and praying that she is growing out of her ear problems too. With a kid with such severe asthma and allergies you never know, its just a wait and see. These are the3 set and  the longest set of tubes that we have had (March 8, 2010) in.

Praying that we are on a quick road to recovery, Momma needs a break!!

Made with love

Hayley made me this beautiful bracelet today in between our running to her doctor visits. She said she could afford a true "Pandora bracelet" for me but this one was way better because she made it with her own beads and love!! Melt my heart
white bead is a spacer
purple heart is for a Mommy's love
purple dolphin is from swimming with dolphins in Bahamas
pink bear is for Hunter
pink coffee cup is cause i love coffee
pink bear is for Hayley
white bead is a spacer

Pneumonia 3 months late

Hayley has had a nasty rattling, wheezing cough for about 2 weeks. I was waiting to see if was just one of her normal coughs:  her usual allergy/asthma cough, 60 degrees then 30 degrees weather cough or  it's time to get walking pneumonia cough. IT was getting no better so that ruled out the first two and it was starting to get on my nerves and hers do off to the wonderful Dr office we went!! ( Thank God for schedule days off school/work, I pack them full of Dr visits)

Dr Massey was out, so we saw Dr McKenna and he treats us almost as good as Dr. M does!! First up was weighing in, she was very excited to see how much she weighs. My poor kids have been trying to hi the 50 pound mark for the past 2 years, well today was the day for Hayley....she weighs 50.6 pounds!!! We both were super excited, this is the first year that she has actually gained weight in a long while.  My kids have are both  so lean and lanky, one day they will be wishing this would stay!!

After a legnthy exam, Mc Kenna said her ears are "interesting" (One tube in and one way out. We knew this thanks to Nurse Jennifer at school and we going to ENT at 3:45) and her lungs are pretty tight and junky sounding. We did a breathing treatment to try to clear lungs to get a better sound of just how "full" they are. Good news is that they are nasty but not all the way full!!! For us that is awesome news because Hayley always gets pneumonia every October, so the fact that we are 3 months later and not as bad is music to our ears and that we are not staying overnight at  Kosairs yet is even better!!!

Can you tell that we have been doing this for years? She is an old pro at it!!

A double does of antibiotics, upped inhalers and usage, and breathing treatments and we are good to go!! We are watching her and will recheck next Monday to see if things improved any. No worries, we are old pros at this so we are going to kick this quick and without a stay at Kosairs!!

Beauty Queen

I walked into the living room tonight to find this.....
Hayley practicing her Toddler and Tiara stance!!! Lord, help me!!!

Sunday snuggles

I can't even begin to tell you how much I LOVE it when the kids come and snuggle with me. My heart totally feels like its gonna burst outta my chest and I treasure these moments because they are starting to be more spuratic. My babies are growing up too fast. Hayley crawled into bed with me Sunday afternoon when I was reading and wanted to snuggle, well needless to say we had a few laughs too. She is a mess--it was the perfect afternoon.

Telling me how to make the "pouty face" and the peace sign

Hayley's 8th Birthday!!

I can't believe that my baby girl turned 8!!! Time is flying by and she is growing into such a beautiful young lady. Yes, there are times that her never ending singing, dancing and the marching to the beat of her own drum, drive me crazy, but,  I am loving watching her grown into such a STRONG and independent girl.

When you have the social life of Hayley, you need to make appointments to see or talk to her. I had to laugh because I had so many family members and friends who were calling for her and she wasn't here!! Pop and Nana took her skating and make her a cookie cake...can we say SPOILED ROTTEN?!?!?!

We met at  Hatmaker's to pick up the kids, Hayley was SO excited she wanted to open her present right there in the parking lot. Who am I to tell the birthday girl "NO?"

We got her an AMERICAN GIRL DOLL!!! Brian did this all by himself, I was at work and came home and he told me that he picked out a doll and made it look just like her. This little girl has her daddy wrapped around her finger!!

Hayley wanted to go to Hooter's for her birthday but her Daddy wasn't too excited about that choice (BOO DADDY!!), so she chose Golden Coral instead. Ever since the chocolate fountain commercial came on way back when, she has wanted to go there just. for. that.
Brian has given Hayley the nickname PIGLET because she can eat! There is hardly anything she won't eat, or try  (as long as she's not allergic to it) and will eat and eat and eat. Believe me, she was in heaven eating whatever she wanted from the buffet. I lost count after 5 plates that were all full!!

plate 1: Salad

plate 3: Chicken legs (she can put away some fried chicken, guess cause I never fix it) and lots of carbs!! Look at that plate. It was her birthday after all, so I didn't say anything!

THE CHOCOLATE FOUNTAIN!!!

She dipped everything possible; strawberries, pineapple, angel food cake, rice kripsy treats, marshmallow--you name it they had it.

Look at that face

Wouldn't stop eating long enough  to accept a very important phone call

They even had cotton candy!! No worries, total sugar high before we left!!

We headed to King Pin for some family fun bowling before Brian had to head to work.
She wanted a picture with me and her doll, said we were triplets! Constantly making me laugh with the crazy things she comes up with.

Hayley had sweet talked her Daddy into stopping at Star Bucks and getting her a hot chocolate. Brian was so excited about this, he LOVES Star Bucks and so does Hayley, it's their thing. Hunter and I could care less about it, too expensive for me! I'll just stick to my 99 cent gas station french vanilla cappuccino!!

We didn't eat her birthday cake until the 8th because of still being miserably stuffed from dinner and she also wanted to wait for her Daddy to be off work (So sweet!!)  Sunday after dinner we lit the candles and sang to her again!

Happy Birthday to you,
Happy Birthday to you,
Happy Birthday, dear Hayley
Happy Birthday to you!!
