Primping?!?!!

Lord, help me!!!!  I am NOT ready for my little girl to be taking any extra time in the mornings getting ready.  She has been on a "I wanna curl my hair" mood--she is NOT my child, I would rather sleep then spend time primping. I do have to admit, she looked beautiful!

Better late then never

I am finally caught up on blogging, thank Goodness!! Life has been in full gear and lots of times I don't know whether we are coming and going. It just seems lately that I was in a funk and so many horrible things were happening all around I wanted to spend every last second I could with the kids and Brian. Blogging was the last thing on my mind. I will try to be better about posting now that I am caught up!

Random

These are some of the funny things that the kids have said over the past couple weeks, I love their personalities and sense of humor!!

October 24
Here's an email I received today from Hayley's teacher...

"So Hayley was telling me about how Hunter has to do some of his spelling words...

Here is what she said...

"He has to write the word, then a sentence, then tell whether it is a noun, a proverb, or an adjective". (I think she said adjective...I was stuck on proverb. :) )

I cracked up inside but didn't say anything to her. It was too precious. :) Love her

Hayley's breakdown this morning was caused by Hurricane Sandy hitting Hoboken and that's where Buddy and Cake Boss is

Hayley-ism for the day:
"Mrs Buynak, are we suppose to be doing our DUI for the day? I mean, DOL!!"

November 29,2012
Hayley just informed me of what she's going to be when she grows up: 1) GRITS (girl raised in the south 2) one of those people who paint their chest at the ballgames 3) bookkeeper at her Daddy's diesel shop 4) stay at home Momma. Glad to see that she had a wide variety and lots of back up "jobs". Never a dull moment with her around--so thankful for her carefree attitude, sense if humor, view of life and the drum to which she marches her own beat.

Hunter's question of the day:

If they have Republic Banks do they have Democratic Banks too?

Festival of Lights

Chorus decided  that they were going to do the Festival of Lights at Slugger Field as a way to give back to the community. The money raised from this was donated to Kosair's Children Hospital Cancer Unit. This year was a very emotional year because Dawson was diagnosed with brain cancer. He is a 5th grader at the kids school and also a member of chorurs. He is currently under going treatments but the out look is not promising. He is doing very well and living each day at a time. He is one of the strongest people I know! The kids wanted to do this and dedicate their performance to him--very emotional!

Thanksgiving

It was such a beautiful day and we have so much to be thankful for this year. If anything, this year has taught me so much and reminded me of just how precious life and family is. After seeing how sick Gramps was and for so long and helping out by sitting with him during the day when I can is something that I will always hold close to my heart. The way that all the Hens and Chicks did whatever it was to take care of GG and Gramps was something that brought tears to my eyes. Yes we are a big family and that sometimes has is curse. Our is nothing short of a blessing, I am so proud to be part of the most giving and caring family there is.  The marriage vows, "in good time and bad, in sickness in health, richer and poorer" are something the GG and Gramps are a true testimony to!

This past year there has been so much death and sickness that has affect our family. The kids and I  have friends who have lost loved ones so suddenly and have been touched to deeply by cancer this year that it just plain SUCKS!!
There is a little boy in Hunters class, Dawson, who has been diagnosed with brain cancer and has been given months to live. Blake is a 6 yr old from Mt Eden who has brain cancer as well.  I will never take for granted my health or the health of my kids again!

First up was breakfast at Ma and Pa's

crazy cousins wrestling
Then we headed across the River to Aunt Debby's for the Spitznagel side. Such a beautiful day and we are so thankful for that. The kids had a blast playing football and riding bikes all over the neighborhood.

I wonder if its routine for everyone to receive directions on eating before saying the blessing?! When you have a large family and several with food allergies, you always have to give instructions. Gotta love the Hens!! I tried to take a picture of our prayer circle, it brought tears to my eyes--to see that jut because 2 people (GG and Gramps) fell in love and started our family and it continues to grow. We are truly blessed

After we all ate it was so nice to sit around and catch up with the cousins. I love the fact that even tho we don't get home for every holiday, the cousins pick up right where they left off. I love watching how close my kids are to their cousins and the bonds that they will always have

GG and I decided that we needed to hold down this couch, bellies full and ready for a nap. I love getting to chat with her one on one. I try to call her once and week and check on her.

Gramps was feeling and looking good!!

This is the only picture I have of Brian and I the whole day...oops!

Pre Thanksgiving

I hadn't been feeling the best on Thanksgiving Eve so Hayley decided that she was going to help me get things ready for Thursday. She is the best helper ever, so eager and willing to learn and help in the kitchen. I can tell her what I need help with and she is right there doing it all, going to make a good wife someday!

Stirring up Cheesy Potatoes

Chopping veggies

Since her food allergies are so severe, I always make a couple of desserts that I know she can have just so there will be no problems. Today's choice was chocolate chip cookies and oatmeal cookies. I didn't do the first thing, she did it all from measuring, mixing and putting in the oven. I am so proud of my little gal--she is growing up so fast.

I am treasuring these moments and memories that we are making and hopefully she will be able to do the same with her children one day.

Ornament Shopping

We met Grandma, Keegan and Aunt Amy for lunch and then headed to Hallmark to pick out yearly Christmas ornaments.

Isn't he the cutest Cub Scout ever??

Can't get enough lovin' on him

Santa was at the Mall so we had to make a stop. I was glad to see that Hayley was in the "spirit"  and wanted to see Santa. This is the first year that we are not doing Santa and its been a little different. I cried lots in February when we had the conversation. Hayley was more upset that the Tooth Fairy isn't real the no Santa. Crazy Gal!

Keegan wasted no time showing Santa his list on his phone
