Little Warrier's Wrestling

Saturday, we headed in town to watch Keegan wrestle at Providence. I can't believe that he is old enough to do this. Amy had warned me that its hard to watch and she was right! Good thing we were on the balcony watching, I wanted to run down there several times and pull the "Protective Aunt" card!! Rest assured, it used my will power and didn't do it, about killed me too.
I am so proud of how well he did, he went to 3 rounds of each match, he wrestled 3 times and also was moved up a weight class this week as well. The first boy he wrestled was undefeated and tough, Keegan hung in there like a champ!!

Hayley was in 7th heaven because Grace was there, finally someone to play with

SO thankful my kiddo is a runner and not a wrestler--my nerves were shot!

LOVE how he is looking up at Jason
Last minute pep talk from Momma

Keegs-
I am so proud of you and your moves. You are one tough guy and I love you so much,. Can't wait to see you wrestle again. Keep up the hard work and practice.

I have some awesome video that I am going to try and upload!

Stroll down memory lane

Such a weird feeling being back to Providence this past weekend, I haven't been back since I graduated and even more crazy that I was walking the halls with my kids!!! Hayley thought it was so neat to look at the pictures lining the gym hallway and find all her cousins and Aunt, she was so excited each time she found a family member.

Volleyball Sectional & Regional Champs 2011-2012 (Abby Spitznagel)

Volleyball Sectional Champs 1989 (Jennifer Fisher Kelly)
(I was the same age as Hayley is now (9) when this was taken)

Baseball Sectional Champs 1991 (Brian Fisher)

Sectional Champs Girls Golf 1999 (Megan Landis Block)

It's crazy to think that it won't be much longer until the next generation of Spitznagel's could possibly start lining the halls!!

Horrible, no good, very bad day!

You know those days when you should just go back to bed and stay there? Well, that was our day last Thursday. I finally fell asleep (durn insomnia), over slept, had 45 minutes to get kids up, dressed to work (20 minute drive), spill coffee on pants on way and spill rest of coffee all over car. Finally get to work, get a text from J Hahn that Hayley fell during running club  and her ear was bleeding. No biggie, its Hayley and she tough but thankful that she texted me! 5 minutes later, I get a call from school saying they were waiting for the Nurse to get there and look at it. The ladies in the office know me well and all of Hayley's medical problems, so they baby her lots!! Then I get the dreaded phone call, "ummm--you really need to come and get Hayley--its pretty bad" I flew out the door and yup, they were right--pretty nasty!

We went to see Dr Massey, I was worried about her tube in her and thankfully, she said it all looked fine and was still in place!! Bad news, she wanted us to see plastic surgeon because of where the cut was and how it was (deep and short). We got in with the surgeon, he was wonderful and so  patient and caring, she was a mess!! Kept crying and telling them she wanted the "mask." Poor thing, she's been in the hospital so much and has had so many surgeries she knows what is coming  next!!

lots of ice and compression on way to Dr's

Hayley ended up with 9 stitches (3 in front and 6 in back) for 10 days and a heavy dose of antibiotics. We are hoping that this heals and wont have any ear problems out of it

Sleeping Thursday night was non existent--up every hour or so screaming it was hurting, I really thought I had a new born again!!

Friday afternoon she slept off and on all day long--it was much needed for the both of us

I have to laugh because I always say running is dangerous!!

Meeting Exander

This weekend while we were in town we made a quick stop to see “Aunt” Heather and the newest addition to her family. Exander was the happiest baby and he really wanted to go home with us, Aunt Heather wouldn’t let him. BOO!! I can’t believe that he is already 3 months old—time is flying!

We didn’t stay long since she just jumped outta the shower and the older two kids were napping, just long enough to get some loving in on him, no worries we will be back in town in a couple of weeks and have already warned her!

so true…

so many people are fighting cancer and it seems to be hitting closer and closer to home. 2 little boys from our community are dealing with brain cancer, breaking my heart, praying for a cure and thanking God for healthy kids.

Burning brush

Saturday was the perfect day to burn some brush

such a hard worker
had to take a picture break

there is something about the smell and warmth of a good ole brush fire

this picture melts my heart. like father like son

Love this man and his work ethic
making sure the fire gets "stirred" right

Maid?!

Hayley had Saturday morning bathroom duty (it was her week to clean the bathrooms) and she was so excited to choose her music off her Ipad and get cleaning....

Isn't this what everyone cleans in?
I have to constantly laugh at her outfit choices! She did have sweats on but didn't want them to get dirty when she was cleaning, what a mess. Im thinking next chore she will get is laundry since she makes so much of it.

conversations

Feb 14
Afternoon conversation:

Brian: "you might want to change clothes, were going to dinner after we pick up Hayley."
Me: "what?! You mean yoga pants, tshirt and a sloppy pony isn't hot?"
Brian: "not when to wear that everyday. It's a holiday, think maybe you could change it up and wear jeans and fix your hair, that means no pony"
Me: "the things I do for you, thankful valentines is just a once a year holiday!"

Feb 12
Hayley just told me she sprayed her "man attractor" on herself so she could attract all the men at the dance tonight.

Feb 12
Tonight conversation on way home from dance:

Me:"How you like the dance, Buddy?"
Hunter: "It was so much fun, the DJ was awesome!"
Me: "Yeah, saw you dancing out there."
Hunter: "My favorite song was the one that goes "Big Mac will make you jump, jump"
Me: laughing hysterically---"it's Daddy Mac will make you jump, jump"
Hunter: "oh--well that's a cool song"
Me: "I know, it came out when I was your age"
Hunter: "never mind then--I take it back"

Feb 9
Hayley's question of the day:

"Daddy, what does "Save a horse, ride a cowboy"mean?"

-thankful he got this question

Feb 8
Today's conversation

Hayley: "Momma, is this what it's like to be old?"
Me: "What are you talking about?"
Hayley: "Taking out my retainer and doing nebulizer treatments"
Me: "Babe, lots of young people have retainers and do nebulizer treatments"
Hayley: "I feel like Im taking dentures out and have to an oxygen tank to breathe"
Me: "Well, I never thought about it that way
Hayley: "Guess I'll just have lots of practice for when I reach elderly status"

Feb 7
Breakfast conversation today:

Hayley: "Hey, Momma. Do you like my bump?"
Me: "Sure"
Hayley: "Don't worry, just because I have my hair like Snooki doesn't mean Im going to act like her!"
Me: "Good thing!"

Where does she come up with these things?!

Encouragement

Working on a paper and Hayley brings out her laptop and starts working on hers. Love my little study buddy and the constant motivation and endless support she has shown me.

Children Worship Fun

Sunday we had fun in Children's Worship and made some yummy desserts for our Valentine's Dinner. Scripture cupcakes iced and then they chose their favorite scripture and wrote in the flags and a new take on "conversation hearts" We went thru a bag of hearts and they picked out 5 hearts they wanted and had to write on paper that heart and a scripture verse that went with it. I am so thankful for this group of kids that I get to share my Sunday mornings with

Mobile stockyards?

Who needs to be at all the sales when you can have the sales brought to you??

Perfect combo

Tuesday night, Hayley decided that she wanted her hair rolled in curlers. We compromised and went with a pony with curlers, thank goodness! It took my an hour and 40 curlers to roll her hair. I love how she is the perfect mix of a girlie girl and tomboy. If she was in cheer leading or dance I would totally be screwed.

Valentines dance

Thursday, was the big Valentine's Dance at school, both kids were talking about it non stop and so excited. After decorating, we grabbed a quick bite to eat, picked up Bonnie and headed back to school to get ready. Yes, this is what happens when you live 25 minutes from school, you get dressed for lots of things at school in the nurses office.

Hunter was all about getting his hair perfect for his lady

Hayley curled Bonnie's hair after she did her own

Hayley, Madison and Bonnie
(we are going to be in trouble when they get older)
A quick picture of my loves before they headed out

Kids were dressed in everything you could imagine; jeans, dresses, suits, prom dresses--there was a little bit of everything there (keep in mind we are a Title I school)

This pictures brings tears to my eyes....
Dawson is in Hunter's class (he is 10) and has a rare form of brain cancer. He was diagnosed during the summer and has underwent extensive treatments. Progress was shown but "now its all in God's hands" that outta Dawson's mouth. I can't imagine to think what he and his family is going thru. He's the sweetest and funniest kid I ever met. I love seeing him in the hallway on his good days when he feeling like he can handle school and we all miss seeing him when hes not there.
Dawson wanted to go all out for this dance...new suit, tie, shoes, flowers for his girl, Allie--it was so bittersweet and we all enjoyed dancing the night away with him.

Hunter and McKenzie were made to stop for a quick picture

Allison was there with her Momma, can't believe how big she has gotten. I used to sit for her when she was a baby

Me and my gal

McKenzie has learned that we take lots of pictures and no use fighting them

Hayley and sweet Bonnie

Hayley and Alexis, Crazy gals wanted their pictures taken, they were each others "date"
