Twas the Night before Madness

Twas the night before Madness and all through the land,

Not a team left unshaken by Jorts and his band.

The posters were plastered on locker room walls,

In hopes that a meeting would not soon be called.

When down there in Tampa arose such a fuss

The whole team from Princeton was sent to the bus!

Then several days later as if right on cue,

The Cats sent ‘em packin, those Mountaineers too!

Then Cal skipped his way to the New Jersey shore,

For a meeting they said was the Cats final door.

But Jorts had a plan as he threw the ball in,

And it bounced off a chest and the Bucs couldn’t win.

Living large were the Cats’ Mr. Knight and his crew,

Then came the Tar Heels with Houston in view.

“Take Three” from the corner said ‘Dre as he shot,

And then Carolina knew Houston was not.

Now Final Four Dancing, it has been a while,

But Cats and their fans, it don’t matter the miles.

Be lookin’ for Kemba, his Conn artists’ too,

The Cats will be bringin’ its defense for you.

On Brandon , on Lamb, and on Jonesy too,

Got Miller and Jorts, and they’re bringing the crew.

Now Liggins and Vargas then go to “The Hood”

The seeding they gave us was much less than good!

So See you in Houston now Mr. Calhoun,

And practice real hard cause it’s comin’ too soon.

The team you will dance with, they just woke up late,

But they’ll have ‘em laced up, they want Number 8!

Little Actress?

Hayley was in Drama Club and they performed The Boy Who Cried Wolf last night. It was so cute and I am super proud of her! I had to laugh at everyone telling us she is a natural---welcome to our life! Here are some pictures of last night.

VT Graduation

Today was Hunter's big Vision Therapy graduation and he was super pumped!! I am so exicted and proud that all his hard work finally paid off! Love how Dr. Bowersox and his staff so way overboard with everything and make a HUGE deal about graduation--it makes it even more special!!

First up silly pictures with Dr. B

then some serious ones

As you enter the VT hallways you are greeted bt this cool wall. All the students who have completed their program and graduated get to put their handprint and graduation year, its really cool to see! This served as motivation for Hunter because when we started VT in June there was not a single handprint and are atleast 20 on the wall now!!

Girls Weekend

I had an amazing time this past weekend at Women of Joy with the girls. This is a weekend that we all look forward to each year and make the most of it--catching up with each other at long kid-less dinners, shopping and relaxing. It's what helps us to be a better mom, wife, daughter, aunt, granddaughter, sister and person--a time to get recharged and refocused.
Our wild and crazy group:
Amanda, Manda
Me, Diana, Lesley, Lindsey, Roxane and Tanya

As we waited for the event to start, we entertained ourselves, playing on none other then Facebook,
 and taking random pictures.

My stomach hurt from all the laughing by the end of the night. We were all wild and pumped because of the conference and that UK was playing in the Sweet 16 that night as well. A perfect day: girl time, dinner at Cracker Barrel, and UK game....heaven on earth!!

I have to admit we were dragging a little on Saturday morn, thanks to super exciting, late, nail biting UK win over OSU that wasn't over until midnight. In no time we were awake with some awesome music and laughs with Charles Billigsly--we have decided that he is super cute and crazy. Can I get an AMEN?!
I wish that I had taken more pictures of the speakers but I was too busy paying attention that I honestly didn't think that much about it until now! Liz Curtis Higgs had us in stitched laughing, can't wait to go to library and get her books. She puts a whole new perspective on stories of the bible and is super funny to boot! Lisa Harper from Focus on the Family lead another session that was wonderful as well. Gave us lots to talk about over a yummy luch at Cheesecake Factory!!

Manda being silly during our wait for lunch.
The late night game was now catching up with us!
I love to sit and watch people, and it  entertains me for hours on end. Bless this poor lady's heart, she was at the table next to us, I just kept staring in amazement...the hair. It was the BIGGEST thing I have ever seen. All teased up, she had to use atleast a whole can of Aqua Net and a metal pick. Oh and then there were the hoola hoop sized earrings and baby blue eye shadow--came to a group conculusion she was from TEXAS!!

After luch we hit the malls, so nice to be able to shop WITHOUT kids and actually able to take our time. I do have to admit, I mostly bought for the kids and nephews and neice--I just couldn't help myself! Maybe because I missed them and Brian lots!

We had AWESOME seats for the Casting Crowns concent! Guess its because we came up with a plan over lunch as to where we wanted to sit and how to go about getting our seat. It was perfect--until the opened the doors early AND while we were taking a group picture!

*Insert a herd, yes I said herd, of women (ages 30 +) taking off like horses in the Kentucky Derby and with our cameras. A third of us stood in amazement and fell to the  floor laughing so hard, a third  ran to save our seats and the other third were yelling and running to get our cameras back from the nice ladies who were taking our pictures..I can quit laughing about this as I type*

8,000 women was a pretty cool sight!

The following pictures are what you get when your girlfriends highjack your camera--one of the many reasons why I love them so much--never a dull moment.

I love this picutre..the pregrant lady is hungry and eating cheesecake in line for Casting Crowns!

Thanks for such a fun filled weekend, same time, same place next year. A special shout out to all those who made our tip possible by keeping our kiddos!!

Bye, Bye Vision Therapy

Yep, that's right, no more VT. Hunter is done, complete and gets to graduate!!!! This is much welcomed, unexpected surprise news, that we are celebrating in shock.  Hunter had an evaluation 4 weeks ago and did wonderfully but after meeting with Dr. Bowersox then he still wasn't happy with things. We have gained leaps and bounds, but being a perfectionist that Dr B is, tweaked his VT lesson plans and wanted to see us back in a month. Tuesday, we went for our consult and the tweaking has paid off, HUNTER IS DONE!!! I know that I screamed and cheered when he said the words that are music to my ears "We have met our goal and I think you're done" Hunter, on the other hand, just sat there shocked--we have had our share of disappointments with wanting to be done for months now and weren't.
Numbers and percentages we were over, but I was on cloud 9 and didn't write anything down-I know bad Mommy. I will promise to post these when we go for our Graduation Ceremony. It's been a long and hard journey to get to this bittersweet place and we are so very thankful!

1 surgery, 4 Doctors,  9 years of patching 3 hours a day, Ambli.net program,  10 months of  VT sessions (60 @ 90 minutes each), 120 hours a month of VT homework, countless hours of Dr's visits and prescription changes= Thousands of dollars but seeing all Hunters hard work pay off...PRICELESS!!

Indianapolis Zoo

We headed to the Indianapolis Zoo Saturday morning for a much needed weekend getaway. The weather was perfet and so was our day. Hayley was so excited about taking pictures, so I gave her my camera and turned her loose. It was so neat to watch both kids get so excited about the animals, Hunter read every fact and Hayley took pictures.
