Gatlinburg--Day 1

Friday was the first day of the Wethington get away to Gatlinburg.  Our family (Brian, Kids and I) and Eric and Tori left about 8:30 to head down and start playing. The rest of the clan; Ma, Pa, Pop, Nana, Denny, Brad, Angela, Luke and Faith would arrive in the next 2 days.

Traveling wears Hayley out...

Hunter was in heaven, he got to watch a movie on the laptop

We arrived in Gatliburg about and decided that we would take advantage of the pool while we waited for our cabin to be ready. I had the kids suits pack and they were burried in the car, they didn't want to get them out so with a little encouragement from Brian they decided to strip down
and jump on in.

No worries, it was a private pool of our own and there was nobody around.

After swimming we decided that is was time to hit the grocery for some last minute things, grab a Star Bucks (special treat and FREE thanks to gift cards) and the strip for Go Cart racing. I mean, that is what Gatlinburg is all about if you ask my family...Go Carts and Putt Putt!!

We stopped  at Taco Bell for the 4th Meal while we waited for Pop and gang to arrive. Nothing like eating crappy food at 11:00. This is what vacation is for, or atleast that is what I am telling myself!

Conversations

I wish I could record our conversations sometimes, they are always interesting and keep my laughing. Here are a couple that I had posted on FB this month

Aug 14
Hayley: "momma, are you really going to wear your hair like that?"
Me: "yup, that's how I wear it every day (sloppy pony)
Hayley: "oh, well you look like Medusa."
Me: "Geeze, thanks love"
Hayley: "well you do, it looks like you have snakes crawling outta your pony"

Aug 20
You know it's gonna be a good day when ya hear "I like your style" (jeans, tshirt, sloppy pony and flip flops) from a complete stranger in the hallway. (Hayley turns and runs, she might just die from embarrassment)

Aug 23
Today's breakfast conversation:

Hunter: " I have to build an island and tell about its climate and living conditions today, what island should I do?"
Hayley: "Rhode Island!"
Hunter: "That's not an island!"
Hayley: "12 Mile Island!!"
Hunter: "That's not an island either"
Hayley: "YES it is, its Paradise's Island!!"

Happy Thursday!!

Sept 5

Hayley gets up, runs to the window, opens blinds and then starts crying in disappointment. Said she needs a snow day.
Happy Hump Day!!

8 week check

Hayley had her 8 week check with Dr Eberle and we are so impressed with how much her teeth have already moved. She got a heavier wire and is allowed to chew a small piece of sugar free gum now....its the little things. Rubberband color choice was blue/orange for TES!!

Cowgirl

Lord, help me!!! This is how Hayley dressed to haul hay. I tell you what, she is something else and we are in a world of trouble!!! Don't worry, Brian made her change her shorts (no booty shorts allowed in our house) and untie her shirt (we are NOT Hooter's) I am so blessed that I have a hubby who is on board and will not tolerate any of this crazy dressing!!

Running Partner

I got some new running shoes and Hayley wanted to test them out with me!

I love the fact that we can share special one on one time and running together. Its a win-win situation in my book. We did 3 miles today, Hayley did very well, with little breathing problems. She was excited to add more money to her Miles for Matt jar, bringing her total to $37.

Calendar

And the craizness begins. School is back in full swing and this means that the kids are both in after school activities. Thank God for my OCDness and my calendar, it keeps me on track. I love our crazy and busy life!!

Green is Brian (Off Days)
Yellow is school dates (Days off)
Oragne is Hunter (Cross Country)
Blue is Hayley (Chorus)

80 miles

After today's 5 mile run (8-29) I completed 80 miles!! This was a very hard, hot and emotional run and I was struggling the last 1.5 miles. So thankful that I have the most amazing girls I run with that push me when I need pushing. I can't believe that I have only been running for 9 weeks and am already at 1/2 of my goal mileage for the year (150 miles for the year) Never once did I think that I would have enjoyed running so much and even crave it, yes I am a freak like that. There are days that I don't get to run and I am in the worst mood physically and mentally.

I have logged lots of miles, sweat and tears with these girls. We laugh and say what ever is talked about while running stays on the road.

My running buddies..
Little Jenn, Jenn and me

Hunter is doing so awesome running as well, he has reached the 1/2 mark of his goal as well, he has logged 45 miles. I think that he has found something that he enjoy and can do, he is the energizer bunny--always going. I got to laugh because he had already ran 1.5 miles while I was waiting for The Jenn's to get there.

Here is what a  hot and sweaty 5 miles  looks like!!

This one was for you Matt!!~
