Storm Damage

We had a pretty nasty storm blow thru on Thursday night and were thankful that Brian was home (he got called in and was going until he saw the damage we had!) and that everything was damaged is replaceable. This weather has been crazy and we are counting our blessings that we haven't had the damage and devastation that most have! We lost our electric for about 13 hours, but thankfully we were worn out from trying to get the cow fence back up--we hit the showers and bed!

Friday and Saturday we spend all day repairing fence and cutting up trees, we will have enough wood for the winter now! God knew that we would need and he provided once again!!

basketball goal was knocked over

swing set was blown over and into fence

cow gates were knocked over....

the creek was a flowing (LOVE that sound)

I picked up trashcans 10 times

limbs were all over yard

my poor swing was knocked over

our flag pole was leveled

trees down in walkway to barn

lots of trees down in the field!!

Braces

Tuesday was the big day for Hayley, she got her braces!! I couldn't begin to tell you how excited she has been about this, she has been counting down the days!

Last pre braces picture
Dr Eberle and Julie are wonderful people, they encouraged me to take pictures (someone must be a blogger or crazy Momma like me)!! They were so patient and caring with her! I got to laugh several times because they both said she had a very small mouth and had lots of trouble getting her mouth to stretch!  ARE YOU SERIOUS???? there's no way!!

Dr. E came over and had a little chat with her, telling her what to expect!!

Hayley LOVED the cool glasses and kept wanting her picture taken, all the girls were laughing at her

Her poor teeth are a mess--I can't wait to see the final outcome!

Brackets are on!!

Julie puts on the wires

This is the part that Hayley has been looking forward to since when we found out she was getting braces....the colors of rubber bands!!

She was in heaven and changed her mind 10,000 times before deciding on Lime Green and Hot Pink....SHOCKER, since that is her favorite colors!

First picture with Braces!!
Can't believe how much older she looks now, not sure I am ready for this!!

She did wonderfully, was a little sore afterwards from stretching her tiny mouth. Nothing that a stop at KFC for some mashed taters wouldn't fix and make her teeth feel instantly better!

4th of July Parade

There is something about living in a small country community when holidays roll around, they know how to do them and everyone comes out to watch or participate!! I have to admit, I'm not really a 4 of July person, fireworks are OK, but they kids really could care less so we usually don't do anything special. Each year we do not miss the Mt Eden 4th of July Parade, its PRICELESS!!!
We met the Oedy's at church for a fun filled afternoon watching the parade and playing church. Our kiddos are something else when they get together, blessed we all get along so well!!

Hayley and Lana
Hunter, Alan and Spencer
Me and my little firecracker
I think the highlight of the parade is when they throw candy, all the kids go wild trying to hoard it all!

Nathan and Diana, he wasn't too sure of it all

You never know what you will see, that is what makes it so awesome and country:

4 wheelers galore,

golf carts,

homemade floats,

horses,
mules,
and my personal favorite this year,
Yes, it was a real live camel!!
ONLY IN MT EDEN!!!

Gramps Graduated

Today Gramps got high school diploma, 69 years later. He was serving our country in WW II and didn't get to complete high school.

I am beyond proud to be his granddaughter!! So thankful for him, his dedication and service to our country and the true living example of what a man should be!! Love you so much!!

Flexable?!??

This is what happens when you have an EXTREMELY flexable daughter who gets bored easily while in Dicks.
I couldn't help but laugh at her and all the people that were staring at her like she was some kind of freak. Only my daughter!! I just wish that I was the flexable and could do that!!

Ortho consult

It's official now, we had our Ortho consult with Dr Eberle this week and just as we thought Hayley would be getting braces! She is super excited about them (hope it lasts) and was having so much fun getting all these picture and x-rays taken. This will be a 2 phase process, 1st phase will be braces on the top and bottom 4 teeth and a spring (spacer) to make room for her permanent teeth. After she has lost all her baby teeth, she will be in a retainer until all permanent teeth are in and then in braces again! Believe it or not, Hayley has a very small mouth!! We have already had to pull a tooth because of her severe crowding. Praying this spacer will help some

Yup, I took a picture of my daughter like this!

I wanted to get one with her and Dr E, but I was told I had to wait until the day of her next appointment (Husbands!!)

The staff is wonderful and very friendly!! Kinda weird because Brian's cousin, La Donna is the receptionist there and we are down the line related to Dr Eberle (Momma and his Mother in Law are cousins), small world!!!
We will be going back on the 17 to officially get her braces, she is already talking about what color of rubber bands she want, crazy kid!!
