State Meet--Oct 27

The big State Meet was October 27th and yes, it was the coldest and nastiest day ever....35 degrees and raining--typical Cross Country meet weather.

His cheering team was all ready while the poor kids were all bundled up waiting for their race to start

Hunter was very anxious, God love him, he sets such high goals and expectations for himself that he stresses himself out for days before the meet. I think that since this was his first time at this race and course, he was a little uncertain as what to expect. There were team tents as far as you could see. I was a nervous Momma!

Keegan came and made this sign--so PROUD

As you can tell from the starting line there were kids EVERYWHERE!!! It was like herding cows at the sound of the gun, hard to get  descent place until you were about  1/2 mile out and then the lanes were only 3 wide!!!! It was awful--you couldn't pass anyone or anywhere, Hunter said that he had to stop running and walk  at some points because it was so tight and backed up.

He did say that he like the course--hills and flat land together-- just wished that the lanes were wider.

Thanks to Grandma and Grandpa Fisher, Aunt Amy, Keegan and Pop for making the drive and braving the cold to watch him run! You are the best!!!

Hunter cut 1 minute off his time from last week, ran a 13:50:50 (4K run)and placed  168/393!!

Halloween Concert

This was the 1st ever Halloween Concert and Hayley was beyond excited for this day to finally arrive! They have been practicing weekly since school started for this concert! The song selection was perfect too: Adams family theme song, Thriller (complete with dance),This is  Halloween and a few others.

The kids were dressed as zombies as they walked in.
(Hayley is 2nd in line)

Mrs Kelley was even dressed up!

Ensemble even played some songs with them.

Halloween

The kids are getting older so they are starting not to not get all that excited about Halloween, this suits me just fine!! Hayley wanted to dress up for school just because Jennifer and her have had their costume planned for months! Hunter on the hand is your typical 10 year old--too cool for anything!

Hayley was a color runner!
(we did this race and she LOVED it!)

Hunter was "the most handsome man in 5th grade, himself!" HA

We had such a nice evening Halloween night--a nice dinner, homework time and then lots of quality family time relaxing--these days are few and far between!

GG and Gramps

We stopped and visited with GG and Gramps for a while last time we were home. Its SO good to see Gramps home and doing well. Nothing like cherishing times spent with Grandparents. I am blessed that mine are still living and that the kids are able to know their Great Grandparents!

Susan G Komen

Our Miles for Matt running group decided that we were going to run the Susan G. I can't begin to tell you how much I love these people and am aways looking forward to our next run/race.

Susan G Komen Race 10/13/12

JD and I have been running every Thursday and Saturday together, wish we could meet more to run but with the kids schedule its so hard to do! I knew what I ran at the Hillbilly and had a goal of 30 minutes for this race.  I was told that it was going a new coarse and lots of people, I was OK with this. Little Jenn and I decided that we would stick together, she is new at this running this as well, and had the same goal!

We all were excited and killing time while we were in the chute waiting for the race to start.

Looking back I dont' have any pictures of Morgan, he was in the front of the pack. Had it in his mind that he wanted a certain time and was going to get it. Oh, to be young and a good runner!!

The race started and it was a mad dash of people, one it started to thin out I was OK--not feeling closterphoic and like I could actually move.  Jenn and I talked most of the race, said she had to get her mind off running or she couldn't do this.  I was very please with our splits, knew by my watch what times we were running. Jennifer couldn't believe that we were doing so well.
We weren't even at the 1.5 marker and we hear this "move to the side, lead runner coming thru" talking about craziness--speed demon!!  We looked up and saw Morgan!!  Yes, we started screaming and cheering, tears were running down our face, so proud of him!!
A few minutes later we passed Terry and JD they were so excited too--awesome to see for him!

The last of the hill got me, I had to stop and tie my shoe and finished with at 30.01---that last second and shoe. I was very pleased because that is 4 minutes off my Hillbilly time and now I  can set my goal/pace for the next race.

We all met at our meeting spot and Morgan told us he WON THE RACE---CAME IN 1st OUT OF 8000 PEOPLE!!!! He was interview by the newspaper and TV stations, said that he wanted to win this race for his Uncle Matt who passed this summer from brain cancer. Needless to say, it was a very emotional day for our Team but we knew Matt was looking down and beyond proud of him!!

Everyone wants a picture with a champion!

Hubers/Chuck E Cheese

Sunshine + beautiful Fall day= HUBER'S!!!  We were excited to be able to make it up this year when the weather was nice and the pumpkins were still on the vine. Usually when we make it , there are just pumpkins thrown all over the ground because we wait to late.

We headed over the river and stopped to pick up my favorite nephew, Keegan!!! Wait, he is my only nephew

LOVE OF MY LIFE

A day with Keegan wouldn't be complete until we stopped at Chuck E Cheese!! This is what being an Aunt is all about, spoiling him rotten and then returning him home, LOVE IT!

So thankful for such a beautiful day spent together, cherishing these memories, for I know the kids are growing up to quick!

Good Brushing

Hayley had her check up with Dr Eberle and got a 5 out of 5 on her brushing!! She got to put her name in the good brushers drawing for the month. I am so proud of how well she is doing and adjusting to her braces, she very seldom has to be reminded that she shouldn't eat this or that.
