Slumber Party

Lana and Alan came home with us Wednesday night after VBS for a sleepover. It's been forever since Alan had been over to play or stay the night, both families have been so busy, as you can imagine he and Hunter were so excited!!  Every time we are at church Lana wants to come home with me (she has even opened  my car door and buckled herself into the car seat!!)--it hasn't worked out lately since we were going for weekly Dr's appointments and blood work with Hayley, but we finally had a free night so she joined in our slumber party!!

The kiddos were so tired and slept in, it was after 9 before they woke up!! We played around the house while I made waffles for breakfast and got things ready for VBS Thursday night.

Lana is a girl after my own heart..

can we say she is a little OCD???

Brian got held over at work and needed some clean clothes so we met him in town and then headed to Ray Jewell Park to enjoy the awesome weather we were having with a  pizza picnic (you can do special things like that when they are not yours!!)

Hayley and Lana ran crazy over the playground,

while Hunter and Alan enjoyed shooting "hoops"

Hayley was showing off her cheerleader skills

Lana and I cheered the boys on!

There is a nice walking track around the park with little health areas to stop at along the way. We opted to bypass those and take a "secret path" down to the creek. It was so peaceful and we were the only ones there.  The water was warm, it was shaded and the kids had a blast wading, looking for shells and skipping rocks-- for a good solid 2 hours, I could of stayed there all day long.

There was this really cool tree that the kids loved to climb on and you know me I had to take advantage of that for some pictures

On the way back to the car, we stopped and ran the bases--who needs Slugger Field when you have Ray Jewell by your house??
they were worn out and needed a little rest under the shade tree
Once we got back home the kids wanted to cool off with the Slip n' Slide. I thought that it was a little chilly, but you know how kids are, they don't care if their teeth are chattering and they are turning blue--they want to be in the water.

Lana loves to jump on the trampoline (and yes that is a cow in the background!)

We played so hard and long that we all had to have "quiet time" before Bible School. Thanks for hanging out with us and having such a good time, can't wait until the next time!!

VBS-- Day 4

The 2 &3 year old's had water night

and so did the 4 & 5' year olds.

It was  pretty simple lesson "Loaves and Fishes" and then we headed upstairs to practice for tomorrow night. Kids were all tired and worn out, thank goodness its over soon!

VBS-- Day 3

We started out VBS with our "Tumbleweed Song" and the kids love to dance and clap. I am SO excited that Clayton is old enough to come to VBS, he loves it and asks me every morning, if it's time to go!!

Each night, Staci picks some children to report on what they learned. Yeah for Ms. Diana, Sydney did an awesome job of telling the other kids her memory verse!!

We worked on our special surprise--the kids are doing so well remembering their songs and motions

Next up was dinner.....ham/cheese sandwiches, fruit, carrots/dip and milk......YUMMY!!! You can tell that  we have reached the 1/2 way point, the kids are quiet,  worn out (so are we teachers), and less needy
In which leads to bored teachers who entertain themselves by posing for crazy pictures

After dinner, it was story time "Zaccheaus" and crafts.

Cowgirl Model

We have had this "cowgirl" outfit  (gotta love hand me downs, thanks Mimi!) in the closet for 2 years and it has always been too big for Hayley--well now it's a bit too small, but she wanted to wear it yesterday, so I gave in. I wished you all could of seen her--she thought she was the STUFF--she was pretty cute...I told her that I wanted to take a picture and this is what I got!!!

She isn't camera shy or anything!!!
