Waddy Horse Show

Mimi had asked earlier in the week if the kids wanted to do the Waddy Horse Show and it just happened that our plans for this weekend fell thru so the kids were SUPER excited to be able to do it!! We went up to the barn around lunch time to do a little riding and start getting things ready. It was a perfect day to be outside and on horses, does it get any better then that?

Hunter on Max
Sammi and Hunter on Toby
Hunter and Kelly on Max
Hayley on Toby
Kelly and Hayley on Max
Hunter's job was to brush out their manes
Hayley's job was to brush out Toby
It was official, numbers and all!
Hayley was ready to ride Toby, but he started acting silly and not wanting to follow directions (hmmm... I know some kids that act like that sometime!!) so Lexi Perry came to my rescue..thanks Lexi!
Brian even got on Toby trying to calm him down but, he still was wild!
First class for the kids was "Henry Brown Lead Line." This is where the kids ride the horse and have an adult lead them around the arena.

Kelly was leading Hunter on Max
Lexi was leading Hayley on Chester
And the winner is......both kids!! How awesome is that? They both won and got a trophy-we had some pretty happy kids!

The next class we entered the kids in was a Fun Walk. This is where the kids ride/guide the horse. Adults may not help unless the rider is in trouble. There were 6 horses in this class and we walked away with 1st and 2nd place!!! I was pretty durn excited and to think that it was their first horse show ever made it even more special!!

Hayley was so proud showing off her ribbon as she left the pen
All smiles for 2nd Place!
Hunter won 1st place!

Thanks for creating our horse riding monsters, Mimi!! Looks like we will be spending our winter fencing and building another barn. Come spring, we will be riding right along with your with our horses. Don't worry we will still come and ride your horses too!

Fishing

It was another beautiful day so we took the kids fishing and they had a blast. We have been so blessed with wonderful weather over fall break and have taken full advantage of it being outside as much as possible.

these are the only fish we saw all day long..lots and lots of shad.

Brian caught the only fish...shad

Replacement??

Looks like Hayley is working at being my replacement. She is absolutely the most loving, nurturing and caring child I have ever know, a little Momma in the making.

 She loves change Leah's diapers,
feeding her bottles,
and burping her.
Don't worry I was right there by her side watching,  ready to jump in if needed. I started to tell her something and she said "Mom, I've been doing this since Clayton was little."  Lord help me--she is a mini me!

Snuggle time

I have been letting the kids stay up a little later since we are on fall break this week. Guess its paying off because I have been getting lots of snuggle/cuddle time at night after Brian goes to work!
