Snow fun

This is what we awoke to this morning. What a beautiful work of art created by God right in our own front yard. Pictures can't start to capture how awesome it was.

I ventured out to feed at 8:00 and measured our accumulation: 3.5"
This is after some of it was starting to melt--still enough for us to have yet another "snow day" off from school.

The kids and I bundled up and headed outside for some fun!

I LOVE THIS PICTURE

Hayley and Hunter

we were trying to catch snowflakes

We had several things on our list that we wanted to do: Make a snowman, have a snowball fight, snow angels, and not freeze! I started out taking lots of pictures but then the kids wanted me to help so needless to say the snow won over pictures. Our mission was accomplished and we had a great time!!!

SHEW WWW that was hard work, time for a break!
Hayley made a snow chair to relax in

S-L-O-W-L-Y but surely our snowman started to emerge....

Hunter did the eyes, nose and mouth

Hayley used her tiger scarf from Ms. Sweazy
( I added the hair)

we used Easter eggs for his buttons

And now for your viewing pleasure, it's with great honor that I present to you:

MR. SNOWMAN WETHINGTON

A picture of my little artist and their work!

**We had lots of fun playing in the snow and wished that Brian could of been home to join us. He has been on 16 hour days due to filling shifts for those linemen who went to PA for the lovely blizzard they are having.

Fortune Cookies

Tonight Hayley and I finally made our Fortune Cookies. I have had the recipe for a couple of weeks now but have been going non-stop and haven't had time. What a better way to kill some time on a cold and snowy Sunday then some fun in the kitchen!

adding flour

sugar

now mix

writing her "fortunes"

put then on a cookie sheet

adding fortunes to the cookies

letting them cool and get their shape

                                                                     our final product

taking the first bite

Hunter liked them too!

showing off her fortune

I was a little leary about how hard these would be to make with my "little helper" in the kitchen. Actually, it wasn't all that hard at all and  5 ingredients makes it all the better. We can't wait to perfect our recipe and make these special treats again. You can find the recipe at: Fortune Cookies

Valentines Cards

Tonight we worked on our Valentine's Cards! Hayley and Hunter each did such a wonderful job writing neatly and all by theirselves! I am so proud!! It was lots of fun making our special cards to share with our friends on Friday. We are looking forward to a fun filled day at school!

Here's your sign....

This is what we found posted on Hunter's door the other day...he cracks us up!

Dance Camp

Hayley went to dance camp today from 10-2 at Spencer County High School and had lots of fun. She was SO excited and could hardly sleep, like a kid on Christmas Eve. I was just thankful that we didn't get all the snow they were calling for--I don't think that I could of handled the meltdown!!

quick picture before we left

The kiddos played lots of games (Sally Walker, Ships and Sailors), got a cool t-shirt, ate lunch, learned a dance routine and got to bring home a CD of the songs to practice to (Pondering on "losing" that CD) and they will get to perform at the half time of a Varsity Game (Tues 2/16 @7:30 for those who are wanting to know).

When I picked her up, they invited all the parents in to watch their dance...it was SO cute. Hayley did very well--it was hard to video tape her because she is so short compared to other--I kept losing her. I did figure out to how to take pictures on the video camera--I was excited....makes it easier to do the 2 in 1 thing...now only if I could figure out how to upload the video. This may be a project for a rainy day, but here are some pictures for now!

Clayton

Clayton: "Jessie, I love you so much"
Me: "I love you to buddy"
Clayton: " I missed you so much yesterday"
ME: "I missed you too"

He knows how to get me everytime!!!

Hard to belive how much he has grown, I have had him since he was 6 weeks old and to think that he is going to be 3 this year kills me! You would think that he is my own--he is "the third child I never had." On the days that he is here we have so much fun playing tractors, feeding cows, wrestling with Brian, coloring and playing games! He is one spoiled boy and I have enjoyed every minute of it!!

Wanna be...

Tonight as we were doing homework at the table, Hayley was upset that she didn't have a math packet to do like Hunter. He made her a math packet, she worked the problems and he graded it--it was too sweet! I don't know who was more proud...Hunter or Hayley!

Ladies man

Hunter came home today from school telling us about his new nickname that 2 girls in his class had given him....HANDSOME!!!  In turn he gave them their own nicknames.....BEAUTIFUL and PRETTY GIRL!!
He is getting too big, too fast. Don't know if I am ready for this or not.

Too Cute!

Hayley got this dress for her birthday and wanted to wear it to school today--I put a long sleeve white shirt and a pair of pink leggins under it...I thought she looked too cute! Get this, she came to me and wanted her hair curled out like a "water slide" and a bow...I am starting to think that she may be your child B!! Aren't you proud???

Tell it like it is..........

This morning Hunter was boxing on the Wii, Hayley told him that he was getting hit like a pinata! I couldn't help but laugh.....sometime I wonder where she comes up with the things she says.
